I love the imperfect shape of the scule formed and the image of the little girl in the center.
Does it have any relation to the Rage Against the Machines song, Born as Ghosts?
I remember this scene in a movie (not sure wich one, I thought it was Rwanda) in wich a cameraman says to the women something like: when the world sees the footage of this horrible war, they feel terrible for as long as the report lasts, after that they just go back to their lovely lives.
I feel bad, because this image smacks me right in the face again. I feel terrible for these kids... I wish I could help them, but I think that task is not up to me. It's a world-wide (political) issue in wich a single individue hasn't got to say much. Luckily there are funds and people like Bono and Angelina Jolie who can make a difference, and I think we should all support them in any way possible.
Anyways, like I said this piece slaps me right in the face. The images that combine the skull are carefully chosen and perfectly fit (and strengthen) the message. This is art that should be seen by the whole world!
Nice, I generally enjoy skulls gets the message across and they're aesthetically pleasing. Then again I have a sick obsession with human anatomy and bone structure.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
